War and Strategy

Hey guys,

Let's use this thread to discuss strategies related to ratios, armies, and any other questions that may arise.

To start off, since Thardferr has been gone for a long time, can somebody help me as to what is a good mine/mill ratio per land? I always seem to be low on wood and iron.

Personally, right out of the gate, I never put any focus on schools, advanced training centers, medical centers, or guard towers. of course you have to adapt to your army focus... advanced training centers, schools and such. but if I remember correctly.... a good ratio for all buildings was as follows though this is going off years long since past. If this is incorrect thinking please correct me. its been a while. XD

btw... my old moniker was Zaknaifien. I used to mod the IRC for Thardferr back in the day.

Thanks buddy. Would .75 market be enough for 1.3:1 GH or would I have to adjust to run those kinds numbers?

I think that too is also dependent on what type of units you build. I don't recall what units upkeep is but I think it vary's depending on what units you have advanced training center units would have higher upkeep than basic training center units again, that's dependent on if they kept mechanics the same or not or if things have changed. markets aren't useful past a 1:1 ratio. so you'd just have to keep an eye on your upkeep as you build your army or amass a large amount of gold before filling your guard houses to compensate.

so is everyone here old school thardferr or from CTA as well? I started around 2000

Btw, I played Thardferr and CtA as well.

Doug, offensive spells aren't working yet. Only blessing, growing crop, and the new tech spells. Elves should be good munching meat
